Lyras’ 2030 Commitments
Our company aims to accelerate the global reduction of CO2 emissions within the processing industry. Lyras’ mission is to enable our customers to achieve energy and water reductions. By making raslysation the industry standard, we can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 6, 7, and 9 and save 1,000,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2030.

Sustainable Development Goals
Water scarcity, heavy CO2 emissions, and inaccessible innovation have been sources of inspiration for Lyras since the beginning. Therefore, we have chosen to work strategically with the three SDGs for which we can make the most significant difference.
Clean water and sanitation
Lyras strives to reduce water usage within the liquid processing industries.
Our raslysation technology reduces water consumption by 60-80% compared to conventional pasteurization.
If implemented in the dairy sector, raslysation would save 10 billion liters of water each year, correlating to 40 million people’s drinking water needs.
Imagine if the technology was adopted across all liquid processing industries.
If raslysation is adopted throughout all liquid processing industries, it would be a game changer to some global, immediate water scarcity challenges.
Affordable and clean energy
Traditional pasteurization requires considerable amounts of fossil fuels to keep a product safe. Raslysation does not. Because the latter is non-thermal and runs entirely on electricity, it saves 60-90% of the energy required for pasteurization.
Raslysation helps decarbonize a production’s processing footprint and paves the way for it to be based entirely on renewable energy.
By 2030, our goal is that raslysation equipment will have saved 1.000.000 metric tons of CO2, equivalent to 180,000 Europeans’ annual emissions.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Through rigorous research and innovation, we have developed a technology capable of becoming the new industry standard.
At Novozymes, raslysation now relieves the company of labor-intensive filtration processes that previously caused physical strain on the company’s employees in connection with the manual handling of filters. Another example is Arla Foods Krusaa, where the production can now reduce daily cleaning procedures to 15 minutes and reuse its brine 100%, thanks to raslysation.
Goal for 2030
By 2030, our equipment will have saved 1,000,000 tonnes of CO2, equivalent to 180,000 Europeans’ annual emission.
